Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social
Development of the HKSAR and Policy Address 2026
HKMAAL welcomes and supports The First Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (2026-2030) and the Chief Executive’s 2026 Policy Address, unveiled today (16 September 2026). HKMAAL is always ready to support and collaborate with the Department of Justice, the International Organization for Mediation and other mediation stakeholders with a view to:- (1) deepening the development of Hong Kong as an International Legal and Dispute Resolution Services Centre; (2) developing Hong Kong into a Global Capital of Mediation; and (3) supporting the implementation of the recommendations made by the Working Group on Mediation Regulatory System and the introduction of the proposed statutory mediator-appointing role of HKMAAL.

Hong Kong Family Welfare Society Joins the HKMAAL
Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Limited ("HKMAAL”) warmly welcomes the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society ("HKFWS”) as its 12th member organisation. HKFWS is a well-established and reputable social welfare organisation in Hong Kong, providing comprehensive family-focused services. The addition of HKFWS as a HKMAAL member organisation will strengthen HKMAAL’s connection with and presence in the family mediation sector, which is conducive to its role as the accreditation and regulatory body for mediation. At the same time, HKFWS’s close engagement with frontline mediation practitioners and users of family mediation services will enable HKMAAL to gain valuable insights into community expectations regarding family mediation services and training needs. HKMAAL
looks forward to working closely with HKFWS to enhance the standards and
practice of mediation services in Hong Kong. |
| Updated Hong Kong Mediation Code (20 April 2026) The Council
of the HKMAAL has approved the updated Hong Kong Mediation Code (the "Code”). The Code is available for viewing on this PAGE. All
HKMAAL Mediators should be familiar with the contents of the Code and shall
comply with the terms of the Code in practice, and HKMAAL encourages all mediators, regardless of background,
training, accreditation, or experience, to adopt and adhere to the Code. |
